Conducted educational program evaluation for museums and cultural institutions nationwide.
  • Managed complete evaluation projects from design through final reporting, conducting site visits to assess program quality and participant outcomes.
  • Designed evaluation instruments including surveys, interview protocols, and observation rubrics.
  • Synthesized findings into comprehensive reports for federal funders and institutional leadership.
  • Navigated epistemological tensions between institutional program frameworks and Indigenous community knowledge systems, moving beyond observation into active facilitation across research and community stakeholders.

PERSONAL RESEARCH

My entire life has been my own personal research project. In some instances, the research was conducted on behalf of a client.  The majority of my research, however, has been driven by my fascination with cultural systems and ethno-epistemology. Here are some examples of roles I've served in deference to my lifelong drive for understanding.

2022-2023
Essex, NY

Distribution Coordinator, Essex Food Hub

Studied the state of the local food system from an emic perspective while coordinating food distribution within the North Country region of New York.

  • Participated in Cornell-sponsored Food System collaborations to examine production and distribution patterns among local food networks in the region.

  • Mapped delivery logistics across New York's North Country and into New York City to understand regional food access and distribution infrastructure.

  • Documented relationships between local food producers and processors to assess the resilience and gaps in the local food system.

Front of Farm Manager, Essex Farm of Northern New York

Studied the local food economy from an emic perspective while managing the front-facing operations of a 150-acre diversified CSA farm.

  • Examined the spending priorities, dietary concerns, and food access needs of community members through direct member liaison work.

  • Observed the operational and financial constraints facing small-scale diversified farms within a market economy through hands-on farm business management.

  • Participated in academic workshops on regenerative agriculture to situate farm observations within broader agroecological frameworks.

2008–2011

Teacher, Baltimore City Public Schools System

Used the Title I classroom as a living research environment to examine competing pedagogical frameworks in practice.

  • Examined the tension between evidence-based literacy instruction and holistic pedagogical approaches through direct classroom application.

  • Studied differentiated instruction methodologies across diverse urban learner populations including ELL students and students with IEPs.

  • Observed how standardized curriculum mandates interact with student-centered inquiry-based learning in a high-accountability school environment.
