EDUCATION
TEACHING CERTIFICATION
(K-6 & MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH)
Through the Baltimore City Teaching Residency program, I completely coursework and training to teach elementary grades and middle school mathematics.
M.A.T. (MUSEUM EDUCATION)
My graduate studies examined current educational theories and practices in both the school and museum environments. During my internship with the Smithsonian Institution, I created a Teacher's Guide for a Lakota Winter Count online exhibition.
B.A. (ANTHROPOLOGY)
College was my first foray into living "up north" in a small, rural community. I studied anthropology, with a focus on Maya archaeology. Interestingly, my "side gig" on the yearbook staff gave me the skills needed to get my first job as a magazine editor.
